Modern testing for modern stacks

We have gotten into the habit of thinking deeper about one topic on a weekly basis. We pick topics based on anything interesting we read - so the topics can range from 'how to express the value of testing' to 'Dieter Rams' design principles' to 'effective remote work habits'. Employees are guided to spend no more than one hour researching the topic online. The emphasis is on coming up with their own ideas and interpretations. We then meet as a group to exchange ideas. I love this habit and consider it one of the more unique benefits you will enjoy at Qxf2.

What does 'good employee' mean?

18-July-2017

We thought about the qualities of a good employee and what kind of candidates we would love to hire

Our thoughts

Its kind of hard to gauge what does good employee mean. My thoughts are from the qualities which I found in my fellow colleagues whom I liked working with. I found attitude of a person as an important quality. The attitude towards work, attitude towards other and a good positive attitude helps in a good environment, which is critical in any workplace. He should be a team player and should try to help his colleagues. He should be willing to put an effort and persist. He also should have an attitude to learn new stuff.

The employee should be a hard worker, self-motivated, team player, helping others, honesty, and ethics. But we can't predict all these qualities within the particular time. But mostly what I think here is the person should be ready to learn new things. The next quality what I feel here is team spirit. It is not only essential to perform well as individuals but also as a member of the team. To do well in a team requires patience, tolerance, and good social skills. Team efforts are associated with many advantages one main thing is work gets done faster. The next one is 'creativity' employees should be ones who are willing to experiment with new things and think out-of-the-box that in itself will help reduce the redundancy of the daily routine. In addition, it will help improve employee and company productivity. But the real task here is how can we identify these people while interviewing.

A good employee needs to be accountable for his/her work, knows to share and help others, listens to others. He/she should not hesitate to talk about anything. He/she should follow the basic ethics of a work atmosphere. He/she should work as a team member with the mindset of collaboration. He/she should draft his career path.

According to me Good employee is the one who can work in a team. He should be punctual about time and should have a basic technical skills. He should be self learner with minimal assistance .Communicating well with the peers , should know how to google for the things he dont know. Apart from that he should be multitasking and should be eager to learn new things.
