QA for startups

We have gotten into the habit of thinking deeper about one topic on a weekly basis. We pick topics based on anything interesting we read - so the topics can range from 'how to express the value of testing' to 'Dieter Rams' design principles' to 'effective remote work habits'. Employees are guided to spend no more than one hour researching the topic online. The emphasis is on coming up with their own ideas and interpretations. We then meet as a group to exchange ideas. I love this habit and consider it one of the more unique benefits you will enjoy at Qxf2.

This article is a pretty detailed and realistic description of how Slack hires engineers.

This article provides a good insight into the interview process at Slack. How they take interview process very seriously and invest a lot of time to prepare for the interview. One thing which I too realise now more and more is to think from candidates perspective while interviewing. There should not be an atmosphere of fear during the interview. I want to see if the technical round where we give a problem and ask them to solve at home can be implemented at Qxf2. But we need to do some homework to come up with right problem. Also personally I need to give more time for the candidates to ask questions as I realise it's very important, Also it was nice to know how Slack puts some effort to make the interview process fairer and exercise is graded as blindly as possible, Being able to deploy more than 50 times a day is quite an achievement. Also, i like the interview process we have at Qxf2 too. But there is scope for improvement

It was a good article depicting interview process at slack. I really liked that they look for candidates who are passionate about programming.I felt it's lengthy process but one advantage is at the end of the interview both employee and recruiter will get benefited.Because employee can measure his skill and recruiter will get good candidates.By listing the current challenges on site employee will know in what domain they are working so should he apply or not.I feel in Qxf2 if we can include technical exercise for our hiring.

It's a decent article. I like the interview process as I think its a large company and these many rounds are essential. The last round is required as you get to meet the team that you would be potentially working with. Its good to hear that they take every application seriously and not only employee referrals. They have given details about their technology by which you can better prepare for your interview. I saw their careers page too, they have clearly distinguished specific roles which is good. Though their interview is very technical, I think they are also evaluating the core values in the interview too. We at Qxf2 have a good interview process. My take-away would be that I got to know the interview process at Slack.

A nice article detailing the interview process at Slack. Having read through what Slack looks for in candidates I realize being good at programming alone is not going to suffice. I also like the idea of having technical exercises while interviewing people. It would be unfair to expect someone to be at their best everyday.

I like the interview process of Slack. I agree its lengthy (5 rounds) process but at the end we will get highly skilled source, who fit for company. I like 3 round (technical exercise) most, because it gives a chance to candidate to show their hand-on experience and we can analyses their working patterns too. I feel, it will be good, if we include technical exercise round to our hiring process. Apart from interview process, I like sharing current challenges on portal/site along with interview process details. This sharing will may provide right candidate to company.

It was a good article depicting interview process at slack. I really liked that they look for candidates who are passionate about programming and display a high degree of craftsmanship and are interested in team work and also take personal responsibility for their decisions.I found the interview process to be similar to other startups where they do Resume screen, phone call than a technical exercise and then an onsite interview but one thing I found different is that they have a set of over 30 predetermined criteria while judging technical exercise.Their current challenges are very well explained in the article.
